Pre-Golden Globe Awards - Boom Boom Room - Set Up

Hello Friends!

I'm in Beverly Hills. Another Snugaboo adventure is at hand.

Last November, I received an email from Jayneoni Moore inviting "sales@crushtown.com" to participate in the Pre-Golden Globe Awards Boom Boom Room. It is a gifting suite for kids. So when the celebrities come into town to attend the awards, if they like, they can stop at the various gifting suites to get SWAG (Stuff We All Get) or free stuff. Turns out previous Boom Boom Room events have received coverage by some of the impulse aisle magazines like People, InTouch, OK, Entertainment Weekly and such. I did some research, called past participants and decided to give it a shot. Heck, if I get Snugaboos photographed on a celebrity or a celeb's kids head and in a gossip magazine, it could give Snugaboos a nice boost in sales!

So I convinced my college buddy Danielle to come with me. We flew in today, picked up a rental van, found our Craigslist.org short term lease apartment and then headed the the event location at the Hyatt Regency. We were a little early so we headed out for a bite to eat. At 7:45 CA time, we got back to the Hotel and got assigned a table. I had shipped our display to the local FedEx location and we brought all of our stuff up to our area and started setting up the display.

At about 9:30 PM, the staff that were helping exhibitors get set up were making the rounds saying that Charlie Sheen's wife was coming through. We weren't done with the display yet but it was looking pretty good. No one was supposed to be coming through till Friday and Saturday! Sure enough she came through. Her name is Brooke Mueller and she is pregnant with twin boys. She passed us by when she first went through. She had a bit of an entourage. A photographer was following her and she had a handful of friends too.

Here's a link to a story in People regarding Brooke and Charlie or here.

When she came back through, one of her friends saw Snugaboos and was going Gaga over it. She put it on her head and we took some pictures of her. I asked this friend if she thought Brooke might like a couple for her boys. She said "of course!". Brooke loved them and decided to take the Zeek (brown Snugaboo) and Frankie (green Snugaboo) for her twins. The photographer started snapping away and I said "Wait! Can I put my logo in there?" He said "You don't need to..I'll take her picture against your display." SCHAZAMMMMM! Yes! I totally built this doohicky with that in mind.

I asked the photographer who he was with and he said "Celebrity Photo". He told me that he would be around for the entire event Friday and Saturday. Awesome. I want to learn what he does with those photos. I would also like to get my hands on them. I will investigate tomorrow.

I'm thrilled already and the event hasn't officially started! I'm posting pictures of our set up and Brooke wearing Zeek on her head. Just adorable!

Thanks Brooke!

We finished setting up the display, tested the lights and the large monitor and ran the movie. All is well. We are ready for tomorrow. We got some really nice compliments on the display. So fun. Go Snugaboo Go! Be good. ;-)
