Hello Friends!
Sorry we haven't blogged in awhile. It is Sat AM in Hangzhou. I will catch you up on the events as of Thursday.
On Thursday I spent the majority of the day doing drawings to document, in detail, the new 2008 Snugaboo blanket designs. This is to help get the most accurate quote from all factories.
They have a business center at the hotel and I made that my make-shift office so that I would focus. It worked well. I got 5 done by Thursday night and the last one done Friday AM. I then emailed these off to the factories and asked for timing on the pricing.
Megan came by offering support and feedback on design decisions. She also had a hobo-spa-day in our hotel. By Hobo I mean we didn't pay extra for it. I brought some facial mask stuff, she took a long exfoliating bath and relaxed quite a bit.
We took a break for lunch and a good walk. Lots of the restaurants here tend to have 2 greeters at the door and they are nicely dressed. They say hello and welcome you. This was even the case at Papa Johns pizza! We chose a nice lunch place close to the hotel. They brought out a menu that had some English on it. I pointed at a few pictures. We ordered all vegetable items.
One interesting dish was a corn fritter thingy. It looked like a corn pancake. When it arrived, it was fanned out decoratively and cut in triangle slices. It was chewy/crispy and had a sweet vanilla taste. It had a garnish of an ice berg lettuce cup filled with sweet vanilla-flavored popcorn. Fun! Megan really liked it and went all cowboy on me and started dipping into the other dishes sauces.
During our lunch, we noticed a middle-aged man who must have worked at the restaurant. He was standing behind a potted plant against the wall. We have been noticing stares throughout the trip, especially Megan. This guy was peeking through the plant. Super funny.
I keep teasing Megan and tell her that she will be kidnapped for her golden hair. She will be kept in a room and fed many Chinese things that makes her hair grow really fast. They will make wigs and sell them for a very high price!
I worked till very late Thursday but got a lot done. See next post for Friday details.
